Revisiting an old road trip route provides opportunities to reflect on the contrast between floods and drought in the Marne Valley, South Australia.
The Marne River flows from the hills up near Springton in the Eden Valley and joins the Murray River at Wongulla, not far upstream from Walker Flat. It is mostly dry but does flood on occasion, providing the valley with a much needed boost.
